Early Voting Begins In Statehouse Runoff Election
(January 8, 2007)—Early voting started Monday in the runoff race for State House District 29.
Two Pearland business owners advanced last month to the runoff to fill late the seat of late lawmaker Glenda Dawson.
Mike O'Day received 48 percent of the vote and Randy Weber got 28 percent in complete but unofficial returns in Tuesday’s special election.
Both are Republicans.
Dawson died in September, but it was too late under Texas law to remove her name from the Nov. 7 ballot.
The traditionally GOP district includes northern and western sections of Brazoria County and all of Matagorda County in southeast Texas.
Democrat Anthony DiNovo finished with 22 percent of the vote in the special election.
Republican John Gorman finished with less than two percent of the vote.

I say a VOTE for O'Day is a vote FOR Pearland. Vote O'Day.
