Pearland Bank Robber

Pearland Police are looking for a chubby, balding bank robber who held up a teller at a bank inside a Wal-Mart store.

The man approached a teller at the Woodforest National Bank at the Wal-Mart on Farm Road 518 about 4:17 Wednesday and ordered the teller to give him all the money.

Although no gun was seen, the man did threaten tellers, Pearland police spokesman Roy Castillo said.

Police aren't saying how much money was taken.

"We want to withhold some details," Castillo said.

The man is described as a white male, 28 to 38 years of age 260 to 280 pounds, 5-foot, 6-inches to 5-foot, 8-inches tall, balding on top with brown hair. He was wearing a red short sleeved polo-style collared shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.

He was last seen leaving the bank area on foot.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents are also working on the case, Castillo said.

Anyone with any information concerning this case should call Detective Jon Matherne of the Pearland Police Department 281-652-1125 or e-mail: jmatherne@ci.pearland.tx.us, or call the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.

Brazoria County Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information, Castillo said. Anyone with information can call 800-460-2222.

It's really a shame because I know Danny and his family and he is actually a good hearted man. He had a lot of problems and I wish he could of gotten help before it all came down to this.
