Man shot in face during robbery

A 31-year-old Brazoria County man was recovering in a Houston hospital after he was shot in the face during a robbery early Tuesday morning.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department said at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday David Henry was returning to his apartment in the 10,000 block of Broadway near Pearland when a gunman approached and demanded his wallet. The gunman then shot Henry once in the face then took off with the wallet.
Investigators said an eye witness to the shooting reported seeing the assailant jump into the passenger side of a waiting vehicle before the car took off.
Henry underwent surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital and was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon.
