Pearland Oilers, Brazoswood Buccaneers to battle
The Pearland Oilers (4-1 overall, 1-0 district) will welcome Brazoswood (3-0, 0-0) to The Rig at 7 p.m. Friday for a pivotal district showdown.
Last season the Oilers had an inauspicious start to district play, dropping their first two games in league including a 28-25 overtime loss to Brazoswood. But Pearland recovered, making the playoffs and battling all the way to the Class 5A, Division I state semifinals.
