The Houston food bank stands to receive 1 million dollars if they win the contest. Through its “Fighting Hunger Together” campaign, Wal-Mart pledges $1.5 million to six communities where families are struggle to feed themselves. It’s asking the public to decide where the money will go through a contest on Facebook.

LAKE JACKSON — The Lake Jackson Elite 8U softball team’s midseason turnaround turned into a recent second-place finish at the American Softball Association’s South State Championship.
The June 1-3 tournament at Wayne Gray Sports Complex in Baytown had 61 teams in competition.
